Weekday Windfall: Game Guide, Odds and Prize Divisions

A guide to how Weekday Windfall works: the six-from-45 draw held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the six prize divisions, and the fixed $1 million top prize that replaced Monday and Wednesday Lotto in 2024.

Weekday Windfall is a national lottery game drawn three nights a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It launched in May 2024, replacing the old Monday & Wednesday Lotto and adding a third weekly draw. In Western Australia the same game is called Millionaire Medley.

Eight balls are drawn at random from a single barrel of 45 balls, numbered 1 to 45. The first six are the winning numbers. The last two are the supplementary numbers, which count towards some of the lower divisions. To win Division 1, a single game panel needs to match all six winning numbers.

The draw is national, but the operator depends on where you live. In New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, the game is sold under The Lott. In Western Australia it is run by Lotterywest, a government-owned operator. The operators pool entries and prize money together, so it is a single draw either way.

How to play Weekday Windfall

A standard game means picking six numbers from 1 to 45.

  1. 1 Choose how to play A QuickPick generates your numbers at random. A Marked entry lets you choose them yourself.
  2. 2 Pick 6 numbers From 1 to 45, or use the autofill option.
  3. 3 Check the result All 6 winning numbers wins Division 1. Just 1 winning number plus both supplementaries wins Division 6, the smallest prize.

Entries can be bought online, through an app, or in-store. In-store you can mark up to 18 games on a coupon. Online or through the app, you can play up to 50 games.

Ticket prices and entry types

A standard entry starts from around $2.70 for 4 games through The Lott. Prices are not identical across the country. Lotterywest sets its own prices in Western Australia, retail outlets may add a commission, and resellers charge above the official price. Check the current price with the operator in your state before you buy.

Standard entry (QuickPick or Marked)

With a QuickPick you choose how many games you want and the numbers are generated for you. With a Marked entry you pick your own numbers and decide how many games to play. In Western Australia the QuickPick equivalent is called Slikpik.

System entry

Choose between 7 and 20 numbers instead of the usual six. The entry then plays every possible six-number combination from your set. More numbers means more combinations, which raises the cost of the ticket.

Pick entry

Guarantees either one or two winning numbers in your entry.

Syndicates

A group of players pooling money to buy a larger entry. The entry is divided into shares, and any prize is split between the people holding those shares. Syndicates are set up by lottery outlets, and shares can be bought in-store or online.

Advance, Multi-week and Subscription entries

These let you enter draws ahead of time. An Advance entry books a future draw up to 10 weeks out. A Multi-week entry covers up to 10 consecutive draws. A Subscription enters every draw automatically and can be paused or cancelled at any time.
