If Monday Lotto didn’t work out for you, there is always Wednesday Lotto to give it another shot! Wednesday Lotto was launched on 21st November 1984 to accompany the popular Monday Lotto. Interestingly, Wednesday Lotto was the only lotto played in New South Wales until the Oz Lotto, which was launched in 1994.

Taking place every Wednesday at 22:30 AEST, Wednesday Lotto offers a First Division prize of AU$1 million for the winner who matches all six main numbers. Whether there is one main prize winner or four of them - each gets their share of AU$1 million. If there are more than 4 winners, a total of AU$4 million is divided.

How to play

Just like with Monday Lotto, you have to purchase either a Marked entry ticket where you select six random numbers yourself or a QuickPick ticket where the numbers are already chosen for you. Then, each Wednesday at 22:30 AEST, eight winning numbers are drawn from a pool of number 1 to 45, with the last two being supplementary. If your six main numbers match with the ones drawn - you win the First Division prize of AU$1 million. The supplementary numbers are used to win the second, fifth, and sixth division prizes. So, if you didn’t match the main six numbers drawn, you still have the chance of winning lower division prizes.

To play a Wednesday lotto you need to get your ticket online or in authorised retail outlets. Ticket prices here depend on a way you want to play. If you want to play with the specific numbers, then create your own ticket, and prices are from $2.40 for four games. If you do not have a time for that, grab a QuickPick ticket, where numbers are already generated for you. Ticket prices are from $3.65 for six games.
